Terms & Conditions

These terms set out how we work together — from the quote through to the finished job and the guarantee that follows it. Please read them before booking work with us.

1. Introduction and acceptance

These terms and conditions govern your use of this website and the services provided by Always There Ltd (Always There). By using this website, requesting a quote, or booking work with us, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site or engage our services.

2. Definitions

In these terms:

  • “Always There”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Always There Ltd.
  • “You” and “your” mean the customer engaging our services or using this website.
  • “Our team” and “the builder” mean the tradesperson or tradespeople attending your property to carry out the work on our behalf.

3. Quotes and pricing

Renovation and refurbishment work is quoted up front as a fixed price, set out in an individual written quote. Property maintenance is charged for time on site at our published rates. All prices are plus VAT.

For maintenance, the first hour is a minimum attendance charge; further time is then billed per 30 minutes, with day rates available. There are two tiers:

  • General work — from £90 for the first hour, then £45 per further 30 minutes, or £480 for a full day (all + VAT).
  • Specialist trades (plumbing, electrical, roofing, plastering & carpentry) — from £120 for the first hour, then £60 per further 30 minutes, £400 for a half day or £760 for a full day (all + VAT).

Our working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Parking, ULEZ and congestion charges are payable by the customer and are added to the final invoice.

At the point of booking we may invoice the first hour, or 50% of the quote, whichever is higher. Cancellation is free if made before 5pm the day before the booked work; if cancelled after that time, a charge of £45 + VAT applies, and where our team has been dispatched one hour’s charge applies. The final invoice includes the balance owing, any extra materials, and any parking, ULEZ and congestion charges.

4. Access and your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide safe access to the work area. Where scaffolding, loft, basement or party-wall access is needed, this must be arranged in advance; a job may be rescheduled if it cannot be carried out safely.
  • Obtain any landlord or leaseholder approval required for works in communal areas before work begins.
  • Give an accurate description of the work required. An inaccurate description may delay the work or require a different tradesperson to attend.
  • Keep a safe distance from the work area when asked to do so.

5. Materials

Where you are unable to supply the materials required and we purchase them on your behalf, the time spent sourcing and purchasing them is chargeable and is added to the total. All materials are itemised on the final invoice.

6. Our team

Our team works to high standards of conduct, presentation and professionalism. They will clean up at the end of each working day and on completion of the job, and will take before and after photographs to record the work carried out.

7. Payment

Payment is made by debit or credit card and is collected on completion of the work. Payment terms for renovation work are as set out in the individual quote.

8. Workmanship guarantee

Our work is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of payment for the completed job. The guarantee:

  • Covers only work performed by us and paid for to Always There.
  • Does not cover parts, which are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
  • Excludes any pre-existing issues or issues unconnected with the work we carried out.
  • Is subject to a limit of £1,000 per claim.

To make a claim, notify us within the guarantee period and give us the opportunity to put the matter right before making a claim.

9. Health and safety

You agree to follow any safety instructions given by our team. We may pause or postpone work if safety is compromised.

10. Behaviour

We treat every customer with courtesy and ask for the same in return. Abusive or offensive behaviour towards our team will not be tolerated.

11. Use of this website

12. Data protection

We handle personal data in line with our Privacy Notice, which explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

13. General

  • We may transfer or novate a contract to another legal entity. A change of ownership or control does not entitle the other party to terminate.
  • We may visit your property to inspect workmanship following a complaint, or as a routine quality check.
  • We may update these terms from time to time; the current version governs.
